Our alpine dairy Briccius Sennerei Sattelalm ist located at the Sattel-Alp. You can find it along the hiking trail from Heiligenblut to the Sattel-Alp/Briccius-Chapel. We have toothsome snacks, fresh milk and bread, yogurt, sweets and other specialities from our farmers.

Open from May to October.

At the Sattel-Alp you can also find the roots of the village Heiligenblut and how the place got its name. Legend has it that at the place where the Bruccius Chapel (with the mineral spring) is located, the saint Briccius was killed in an accident in 914 AD. Briccius was a Danish prince on his way home from Constantinople. He kept with him a little bottle with the blood of Jesus Christ (Heiligenblut: heilig = holy, Blut = blood). He lost his life due to an avalanche and his grave is at the place where our church stands today.

Another place of interest is the viewing platform, which is on the way to our Briccius Sennerei Sattelalm and the Briccius-Chapel. The viewing platform is situated beyond a 300 meters deep abyss. It gives you a fascinating view over Heiligenblut.
